Satellite workshop

We are going to hold a workshop on running simulation of selective breeding programs using the AlphaSimR & FieldSimR R packages.

✅ Time: 15-16th September 2025

🏫 Place: The Roslin Institute, Easter Bush campus (see below for details)

Please bring a laptop and be ready to install R packages. We have shared instructions on which packages we will use via e-mail To connect to the guest Wi-Fi, please see the official guide provided by the University of Edinburgh: Connecting to Guest & Visitor Wi-Fi.

About the venue

The Easter Bush Campus of The University of Edinburgh hosts The Roslin Institute (Goolge maps), The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Medicine, The Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Systems, and a range of startups and established businesses.

Getting there

The Easter Bush campus is directly served by several local bus routes, the bus stop is called Veterinary Centre. To plan your journey, try using the Traveline Scotland journey planner, Google Maps, or the Citymapper app. All buses of line 47B serve the campus. If however you take bus line 37, you must make sure that the bus displays “via Easter Bush”. Otherwise you will end up in the wong place.

Please note that there is a village called Roslin nearby. Do not go to Roslin village. Come to The Roslin Institute, Easter Bush campus! (Goolge maps)
